Operation Smile Mission with the Bb. Pilipinas 2012 Candidates

Operation Smile Philippines brings back smile and hope to kids and adults alike conducting medical mission offering free cleft lip and cleft palate surgery at the Santa Ana Hospital in Manila. Out of the 52 patients who were evaluated, 41 successful surgeries were performed. Seven patients also received palatal obturator.

In cooperation with Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., thirty candidates vying for the title Binibining Pilipinas 2012 spent two days giving support at both pre and post-operation. Led by Bb. Pilipinas 2011 and “Smile Ambassador” Shamsey Supsup, the hospital went into a frenzy as parents, volunteers, and patients have their photos taken with the beauties.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary since its first mission in Naga City, Operation Smile will conduct eight simultaneous missions across the Philippines to provide free reconstructive surgery to at least 1,500 Filipino children and young adults.

Here is a collection of photos from the mission.
