Camp Out Philippines

06 Dec 2011. Camp out Philippines protest could be seen side by side with the Occupy movement that is happening in different cities in the world. Both movements want change in how the monetary system is distributed among its citizens. In the Philippines, the ruling elite who has the most money, the most political influence, the owners of media and broadcasting, controls everything. Students who are in the forefront of this rally gathered and marched towards Mendiola to hold a 4-day camp out but were stopped halfway short by the police wearing helmets and wielding arnis (a local wooden stick made of rattan) and a waiting firetruck waiting for instructions to spray at the crowd. At one point, tensions build up between the students and police but no harm was inflicted. The students wants more the government to allocate more budget for education instead of war. They want reform. They want change. And they want it now.
